These prosthetic feet empower sporty amputees to gain success in the track-and-field sports like regular athletes with normal feet. Cheetah blades are made of lightweight carbon fiber and shaped like a cheetah's rear legs. The shape releases extra push so that the athletes achieve longer strides. Unlike athletes with complete limbs, athletes with amputed legs are not hindered by lactic acid buildup in their bodies, a condition that enables them to run longer. These "feet" are a key factor for the South African runner, Oscar Pistorius, to compete with other able-bodied world class trcak-and-field runner.
